Arne Jacobsen
Arne Jacobsen is remembered for developing the Danish Modern style. In addition to his architectural work, he was one of the most important contributors to Danish design, especially as a result of the worldwide success received with simple but effective chair designs.
His break-through came in 1952 with the Ant chair and later the Series 7 in 1955. These designs propelled Arne Jacobsen into furniture history.
While the significance of Arne Jacobsen’s buildings was less appreciated, his furniture and other design work have become national and international heritage.
