The String Shelving System consists of various components to allow users to create their ideal shelving unit. Build yours today!
Designed by Swedish architect Nils Strinning in 1949, the String Shelving System has become one of furnitures design icons. Consisting of slender 'ladder' like side panels and a variety of shelves and storage units, the String System is incredibly flexible solution for creating a bespoke storage unit. Simply pick your panels, shelves, and go from there.
Once installed, shelves and other components can be easily moved around for changing layout or new additions. The system is built around two widths, 60 and 80 cm. These measurements have stayed the same since it was first introduced, this means a string shelf can always be updated and rebuilt.
Each component has been carefully considered and is available of range of finishes to mix and match and suit your needs.
To help design your own String System you can use using Strings Build Your Own site. Once you are happy with your design you can purchase the components through our site or forward over the pdf of your design for a quotation.
