Michael Young & Katrin Olina Petursdottir

Planes and trains are his office – travelling is a working method. British born and Hong Kong based Michael Young’s work is an international star designer. His work has a uniqueness that might come from his constant questioning of typologies and habits.
Born in Sunderland, he studied furniture and product design at Kingston University from 1989 to 1992 and then worked for four years in Space, a design studio run by Tom Dixon. In 1994 Young opened his own studio in London and has designed for various manufacturers including Cappellini and Swedese as well as completing several interior projects.

Born in Iceland, Katrin Olina Petursdottir studied Industrial Design in Paris before working in the European design studios of Philippe Starck and Ross Lovegrove. Since then, she has worked predominantly as a graphic artist and illustrator. One of her major projects is Cristal Bar in Hong Kong, where her dream-like drawings cover every interior surface.
