Ray Lounge Chair

Ray was one of the first pieces of furniture to be put into production by HAY and it is the first lounge chair made by designer Jakob Wagner. The inspiration comes from the sea. Ray has a simple and elegant shape in common with its graceful namesake. Like the sting ray of the sea it is thick in the centre and becomes slimmer near the wing tips, which gives Ray a padded softness and makes it more comfortable to sit in. The seat is wide allowing you to have a plate of magazine by your side or to pull up take up your legs.
