Caravaggio Matt Pendant Light

Caravaggio Matt is a timeless pendant light from Danish lighting company Lightyears.

The designer, Cecilie Manz, wanted to create a simple and soft design which lent itself to both small and large pendant fittings. With Caravaggiothe curves passed through a number of shapes during the design process but the final version captures a soft and feminine form.

Caravaggio Matt is made of drawn steel. The original Caravaggio design was coated with a smooth high gloss finish. This version is coated with a smooth matt lacquer.

The suspension assembly consists of curved steel rods and two pieces of turned brass coated in matt chrome. The depth of the shade prevents glare, no matter how high the pendant is hung. It also features an opening at the top which casts light upwards and illuminates both the suspension and the cord.

Cecilie Manz’s love of grey tones is clearly expressed in the choice of colours available (two greys and one white). The delicate white and greys are finely balanced and interact neatly with each other if you choose to mix them. The grey tones, which are named after the numbers in the NCS colour scale, are timeless and suit any setting. Each light comes with a complementary 3m coloured textile cord (white for the white shades and grey for the two grey shades).
