Sami Routsalainen & Maija Loveari
Sami Ruotsalainen is a graduate of Helsinki’s University of Art and Design who started working for Marimekko as an intern. Within 6 months he was taken on permanently and was combining work with completing his studies.
He worked closely with freelance illustrator Maija Lovekari for the In Good Company Range and the result is an artfully thoughtful dinner service.
In 2003, Maija Louekari, won the ”Nuorenelämänraamit” (“The Setting for a Young Life”) design competition held by the University of Art and Design Helsinki and Marimekko with her printed fabric design entitled Hetkiä/Moments.
Her ideas come from observing surroundings, with an interest in people and behaviour, in things that don’t always seem to be so important.
